Making the final album

I am now in the process of making the final product.

I have made my front cover and now I'm making templates for the rest of the album:

Pictograms...

Today we are in the darkroom making pictograms with our studio pictures. we are adding text to the image to make it more effective.

This is my image:

The effect of this image is alot of contrast and added brightness.
The effect is very alike to the pictures from the popular TV show: The Inbetweeners

Poster and practice cover.

I have made a poster and album cover, both very similar for practice to see how it would look.

This is my album covers, it's very close to being my final cover. i still need to take some more pictures and experiment with them on photoshop:

Album art - Research

I have a few examples of album art which would be how my final product could look like.

My album cover could have anything in the cover. from the actual band to a location they're in. the picture could have special effects or have been edited. Theres so much choice.

Research and band locations

Here i have a few examples of singers/bands with a selection of band locations.

 

Katy Perry's album art, is located in a garden, field type scene. Whereas below, she is seen in a car/parking lot for a photo-shoot.

Here Lady Gaga is in a studio for a photo-shoot. Wherever the shoot, they all have the same effect.

Paramore, below, could be located in a public place rather than a studio or town scene.

Here is a selection of band locations where the band could do shoots.

Why these places?

From album covers and promo pictures which i have seen some bands in, some places the pictures are shot in are completely random. Sometimes, images may be shot in a studio but a lot of the time, they're shot outside on the streets or in towns.

Sometimes the band isn't even posing for the image, sometimes they can be doing something or having a laugh, which adds effect to the image and the band.

Lady gaga, who's real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, is a talented american singer, who is also know for her multi-tasking, such as being able to play piano, write her own songs and even dress as crazily as she wants!

Why i like lady gaga?

First off, her music. It's great, catchy and has great lyrics. She has a variety of songs 

Halestorm

Who are Halestorm?

Halestorm are an american hard rock band from Pennsylvania. Halestorm have been an active band since 1998, and  signed their first record deal in 2005 with Atlantic Records.

Bands members are: Lzzy Hale - vocals, guitar, keyboard, Arejay Hale - drums, percussion, backing vocals, Joe Hottinger - guitar, backing vocals and Josh Smith - bass guitar, backing vocals.

Why I like Halestorm?

I've not been into Halestorm all that long. i first heard a track of theirs a couple of months ago and I was drawn to their music straight away. I find their songs catchy and I enjoy how each song are different. Some rock bands make their songs sound all the same but Halestorm have a variety. 

Analysing the image

First thing we notice is the vocalist of the band. She is in the centre of the picture and in front of all the other members. This shows that she is more important than the other members because she is the voice of the band. She has one of the most important parts of the band therefore deserves to be placed in front.
When i capture my band images, I would make sure that the singer is at the front. 


The location of the picture shows they're in some sort of basement with each of the members in front of a window with the light glowing through. But a location like this isn't at all surprising. a lot of bands take promo pictures in random places which all sorts of random poses/actions. 


The image has a sepia look to it, as its very yellowy/brown. It makes the image look like it's themed.
